All aboard for the amazing follow up to the award winning Ticket To Ride with Ticket To Ride Europe.

Alan R Moon took his original design and fine tuned it with new mechanisms and a more restrictive map covering the whole of Europe at the start of the 20th Century. Build train lines from Lisboa all the way up to Petrograd or from Edinburgh down to Athena. The restrictive map does not make this a harder game as you can now use Ferries to cross the sea, Tunnels to go through mountains and Train Stations which allow you to use part of another players line.

Ticket to Ride Europe is a 2 to 5 player game where you are competing to control lines in-between cities with the hope of meeting your scoring cards (Destination Tickets) route requirements. On your turn you may perform only one of the following four actions.

Draw Train Cards – Draw two train cards from either the open market or from the draw pile. You may only draw one card if you choose to take a locomotive from the Market.
Claim A Route – Play cards from your hand matching the colour and length of a route and place your trains on that route between two cities. You then score for the length of that route.
Draw Destination Tickets – The player may draw three new Destination Tickets and must keep at least one of them.
Build A Train Station – You may build a station on any city that does not yet have a station in it. The first station you build will cost you one train card of any colour. The second will cost you two cards of the same colour. A third will cost you three cards of the same colour.
To build train lines along Ferries you must play a certain number of cards (all the same colour and at least one locomotive (some Ferries require two locomotives).
A new push your luck gameplay mechanism is included with the Tunnel construction as when you decide to build a Tunnel you must turn over cards from the draw pile one at a time (3 times) and if any of the cards match the colour (or a locomotive) of the Tunnel you are trying to construct you must play another card from your hand (the same colour or a locomotive). If you are unable to play a card then the Tunnel fails and your turn ends.

Stations are a very handy addition to the game as they extend your route into or out of the station along another players line (only one route). However, for every Station you don’t use by the end of the game bonus points are awarded so careful planning of when / if to use the Stations is required.

This is the perfect follow up to the original Ticket To Ride and for many people this is their favourite in the series. Great for family game nights as it is so easy to teach you can get playing in just a few minutes.
